:: Końskie 2007 ::
This year's edition of music workshops in Końskie took place between the 16th and 20th of July. As usual, the to-be-musicians developed their abilities in five instrumental classes held by some of the best-known teachers of musical wizardry.
The guitar classes were led by Marek Raduli, Bartek Papierz and - as a guest lecturer - Marcin Duński, bass - Wojtek Pilichowski, drums - Tomek Łosowski, keyboard instruments - Kamil Barański and vocals - Elżbieta Zapendowska.

The classes were small enough for the young musicians to be focused on individually. The workshops were attended by both beginners and those who already had their successes on the biggest stages in Poland. Additionally, on Friday guitarists and bassists shared a lesson where Wojtek Pilichowski focused on teamwork in bands and inter-musical communication.
All of the participants had a chance to listen to a short lecture by Tomek Lipiński on studio work and home studio. Tomek, who is an experienced sound engineer, gave many valuable tips.

Despite their freshness on the musical map of Poland, the workshops in Końskie are growing and definitely heading towards the right direction. The new element of this year were open-air concerts of the stars and karaoke and jam sessions at the local pizza place, which offered the hungry (hunger for knowledge and all other hungers alike) participants a place to hang out and play. The karaoke sessions were a great occasion for all workshop attendants to get to know each other and prove that anyone can be a Pop Idol. A surprise for all young musicians and the rest of the pizzeria guests was the Tuesday short concert of Pilichowski Band in a smaller-than-usual lineup. The other concerts, which were held in the open air, were Wednesday's PiR2 with Kamil Barański supported by the participants - the band Chassis, and Thursday - a very special guest - Krzysztof Ścierański Trio. All of the concerts (except that of the participants) gathered a large crowd of spectators from Końskie and nearby. Many of those who attended had their very first contact with music of this kind, but all left with big smiles on their faces despite the fact that the shows had to end sooner than planned (local noise restrictions).

The last element of the workshops was the concert of the vocalists, who presented their talents to a larger audience.

Year after year the attendance is growing, which just proves the great, enthusiasm-laden atmosphere created on these workshops. Big thanks go to Maciek Lisowski, who keeps the whole thing going. I am very eager to go there next year and find out just what the organizing bunch are planning for everyone.
